[Ducati] Motogp - Donington...still a spoiler?? =)

hey Peter!

It's probably safe at this point that Donington is no longer a spoiler =),
at least i hope so!....And i sure could be wrong in interpreting Larry's
post....but i think he was joking on the Capi thing. I love the guy...but
until i hear Casey talk about learning from Loris'...i gotta chalk it up to
a nice, warm media story. He's a ridiculously talented, and mentally tough,
kid on a great bike with currently great rubber.

Last year, Stoner was on the bike that Checa currently chucks down the
road....errr....rides. =) Definitely not the same spec the Repsol boys
get...and probably a notch down from the Gresini bikes. With Bridgestone's
current advantage...there's no reason for Melandri to be fighting as far
down the order as he's been. Clearly, Honder missed the mark out of the
gates. It is nice to see Nicky upping his pace now that they've dialed out
some of the electronics and he can actually spin, slide and feel the thing.
That said, the satellite guys aren't getting a lot of support, (read:
Melandri, Nakano, et. al.)

I think to say Casey sucked last year is a little harsh. He went silly fast
straight out of the gate....on a customer bike. He did though, have trouble
with tucking the front...as he wasn't getting the feel he needs, (Pedrosa
had a number of tucks at crucial points last year as well). As far as same
tires...I would bet the tires that Casey, or any of the satellite guys got,
were not the same ones the Nicky and Dani were getting. This year, I doubt
Checa, Nakano or Roberts are getting the same Michelin's Rossi
gets...especially under the current rules.

cheers,

Fred

Good point Larry,

Last year, Stoner had the bike and tyres the champion rode, and totally
sucked.

"Stoner's steady ride through the field showed great skill and maturity that
was utterly lacking in previous years."

Patently obvious, a result of all that "mentoring" he got from Capri.
