These cars are inextricably linked to the Nurburgring and the great drivers  
of the prewar era.
Nuvolari beat the Auto Unions and the Mercedes grand prix cars in an aging  
Alfa in front of 300,000 Germans including Hitler in 1935.  Sort of  racing's 
version of the Jesse Owens story except for the fact that Italy  was Fascist
