To quote myself: "Unfortunately, no: I'm not volunteering."

Even if I WAS volunteering, which I'm not, I wouldn't recommend having
people start throwing money at it.  Something this big, someone should keep
a list of "pledges" and when the bottom line starts approaching a reasonable
purchase price (probably something well over $75K), then and only then
should people be asked to pony up.
