[Ducati] 749 sputters and coughs passing from 4500-6800

Well, the problem when I dropped it on the left side was that the front bolt
in the side stand bracket had somehow fallen out, and the stand kept
rotating forward, leaning the bike more and more to the left.  It was so
gradual though, that I kept wondering if it was just my imagination.  Right
when I decided it couldn't be my imagination and started looking at the side
stand, it keeled over.

I do like the looks, though - the single sided swingarm, the curve of the
front fairings, the styling of the nose and lights, and especially with the
5 spoke wheels.  That's why I bought a 748 instead of looking for anything
newer.  I am thinking about redoing the tail a bit to look more like the
1098 and Desmosedici, though.  I like how the 1098 shows off the mufflers
more, and my tail needs to be fixed anyway.
