Forget the Champion plug it is not the source of your problem. There are a half dozen plugs that will work including Iridium plugs. try a bit more gap...throttle position senso is not a digital device, it resides on the end of one of the throttle butterflys, typically left side, black plastic cover, set with a screw that is yellow waxed in place. Its output is I believe 0-5VDC and this is what goes to engine managment computer. Unless you have messed with it it is not likey off. Sounds like you need a simple tune up...synching tb, setting air screws and the like. Considering that the bike is fairly new this hould be something for dealer to address. I suggest you start with a shop manual, the Ducati manuals are pretty good about such things, describing ranges and how to trouble shoot most electrical devices. Course I understand all too well the hesitation of going back to dealer. Time, distance and futility seem to get in many a customers way. So if intent on solving your
own problem start with shop manual. Of course it could take some diagnostic tools you do not have EGA for instance. Have you had the tank off and looked for problems, fuel filter changed? fuel lines okay. Airfilters clean? I would check all the obvious things first. Rich

Subject: [Ducati] 749 sputters and coughs passing from 4500-6800 rpm
The bike 06' 749 is running great except for this problem. If you go
through this range (4500-6800) at a "slower" acceleration, it does
nothing wrong. But, the greater the acceleration, the greater the
sputtering and coughing. I have put new plugs in. By the way, I can
not find even a reference on Google for these RG59V champion plugs. I
had to resort to NGK's. Where can I buy this champion plug. I am 200
miles from nearest dealer. What have we to speak to on this mystery
sages. And please help me. Can someone please explain the theory of
operation of the "TPS". I know that it communicates to the ECU the
position of the throttle. Is it a digital device?
Thanks
Wendell
