I'm with you Rick.  It may not be the most cutting edge tool anymore  but a 
day on an "early" 900SS is like hanging out with old friends. Leaves you  
wondering why you don't get together with the old gang more often! :-)  I  do 
appreciate the advantages the more modern 900's have to offer but  personally if I 
am going to ride something that uncomfortable (and unexplainably  tall) it 
needs to be a Superbike. The early 90's version does  look a bit square in the 
headlight even to me these days but it's still a  classic and I prefer that look 
to the newer model to this day.  All  personal preference of course and I 
suppose an argument could easily be made  that the BEST 900SS ever was built in 
1975 (the old silver and blue ones)  leaving both other versions in the dust of 
it's escalating resale value.
