http://www.archmoto.com/rich/pics.html......whew, looks like Arch is moving or redoing site so good thing I saved the old link. I have tons more stuff and this is kind of old news, I think Arch put this on his site 5 years ago or actually longer. Not much of what you are doing is new to many of us on this list. Might also want to look at what Chris Kelly is doing on his site with tutorials and the like. I do not do this for a living though I sometimes think I should....but there aint much money in it. As much as I know about Ducatis and working on them...I think I am likely a better bicycle mechanic...meaning you want a perfect rebuild I am your man, vinatge Paramounts and Raleighs being a current specialty. I have rebuilt way more bicycles than motorcycles though I think the mindset transfers over very well...one grain of sand or strand of hair can be felt in a bicycle wheel bearing or BB. Take that approach to all your mechanics and you will do well. Next to that pumping
systems and all sorts of controls are my real work having spent over 25 years working in the water/wastewater utility field, a major part of that Operations and Maintenance but also lots of years involved in managing projects whether small or large, currently 40Mil CIP. So I have several hats. But working on motorcycles and bicycles is something I have done for a solid 30 years. Most of that on my own....meaning I have not had the luxury of tutelage under the wing of some expert. I have lerned from lots of folks, several here. This is a learning environment or can be. Lots of folks know more than me and I listen and learn. The result is in 13 or so years of Ducati ownership I have become close to the guy in his garage expert. I may not have every fancy tool but I have done equal work in many resepcts to the best of em out there. My high water mark was the only time I had work done in a shop... and I took bike to BCM one winter....quite a drive from Va Beach...tells you
what I thought of Bruce...but I needed a custom FIM chip for my slightly improved 916 which was then being called a 955SP...it did not make the most power of any 955 but it was close and though Bruce and Kyle went over the entire bike they could not find anything wrong with it....based on my work. Course they did find a few things wrong with it, I needed a better chip and an occassional miss was traced to a crank sensor that was too close and needed another shim. Bottom line is I represent that age old guy in his garage and if I can do it anyone can. You just take your time, keep notes, even take jpgs as you go along. Be methodical and double triple check your work. Ask any questions you can think of here. there are folks here who are encyclopedic in their approach to providing info. Larry K is one example that always springs to mind. Art Ramos, Chris Kelly, Brad B., Clayton, Arch and many more all have loads of experience and eager to share. Good luck, Happy New Year.
 Rich
