As others have said, it is indeed an easy task. 

However, the odds are very good that the fluid in the hydraulic clutch 
is due to be renewed, and there is no better time to do it than when the 
cover is removed, so that you can moitor the action of the clutch 
(uniform lift-off, etc.) while you add new fluid.  Of course, you have 
to have access to both sides of the bike to do that job.

I write this knowing that I am long overdue, myself.  But the clutch 
works so well with its Barnett plates, which I installed several years 
ago, that I am a bit afraid to mess with the hydraulics.  "If it ain't 
broke, don't fix it." is not really the right slogan to use in 
conditions where some routine preventive maintenance is required.
