For my part, in Costa Rica I'd either be on a bicycle or in a bus. If I took a motorbike, it's be a BMW (read what Patrick Symmes said about motorcycle choices in "Chasing Che").
BTW, there's this series of curves on the road that goes south from Tuxla Gutierrez to the Guatemalan border, when the road drops from the high plateau to the coastland, that had me wanting so much to be out of that bus and on a sport bike. I lost count long before the road ran out of curves,...and the drop-off....
