I'm moving out of the country next month and I won't be able to take my bike
with me so its it up for sale.
1993 red Ducati 900SS with 18300 miles.
Asking $3800.

The bike is in Los Angeles currently (I may have to keep it a friends in San
Diego when I move.)
The GOOD:
Ohlins rear shock.
Jeff Nash rebuilt the front end and installed a set of Race Tech gold
valves. (huge difference)
Staintune spaghetti exhaust. These have been coated by Performance Coating.
Nichols Flywheel
14T front and 39T rear AFM sprockets
Stainless steel front brakelines
Updated Nissin master cylinder on front brake (awesome braking now)
Updated stock Ducati master cylinder for the clutch (purely cosmetic to
match the brake master cylinder)
Yoyodyne clutch slave
Competition Werkes fender eliminator
Nichols crankcase breather
851/888 Clip-ons (made a huge difference with riding comfort)
Salamander heavy bar-ends
Carbon fiber clutch cover and rear fender
Upgraded battery/starter cables
Zero Gravity windscreen
The BAD:
The original swingarm cracked. Ducati replaced it under warranty.
The rear brake locked up while I was on the highway. I made it safely over
to the right side. When I got off to check out the brake, it decided to let
go and the bike rolled forward a bit, just enough to cause the
self-retracting side stand to come up. The bike fell on it's left side,
scraping the fiberglass. I hand sprayed it with Color Rite. It's hard to see
but noticeable. I replaced the entire rear caliper and installed a Pro
Italia stand bolt so now the side stand behaves like a normal one.
The regulator/rectifier went bad so I replaced it with an aftermarket unit
and also replaced the wiring.
The UGLY:
The paint on the wheels is flaking in places. The is also some paint peeling
from where the original clutch slave went bad.
There is a dent/scrape on the underside of the right Staintune cannister. I
bought these used and they came with the dent. It doesn't impact performance
and is really hard to see.
The seat has a slight tear at the bottom left corner. I've seen this on a
couple of other SS. Seems to be common to that style and year bike.
The body work has miscellaneous scratches from wear and tear. There are some
marks from strapping down a backpack in addition to the scrape when the bike
fell after the rear brake problem.
The bike looks pretty good. I always get compliments on it but it's not a
garage queen. I don't use it for commuting but mostly long weekend rides.
The tires have about 1000 miles of wear and are in good shape. I've taken
this thing all over Texas, Colorado, and southern California and it is a
blast. The mods that I have mad to it have really enhanced it.
I bought it with 250 miles on it in 1995. I've always held onto even though
I move around quite a bit but I won't be able to take it with me this time.
Let me know if your interested in it or have any questions or comments.
_Kris
