[Ducati] 1098 Price & Margins

Just curious to know if in order to keep the price on the 1098 lower  
than we may have expected,  Ducati dealers were asked (required) to  
"pitch in" and make a little less on the 1098 than they may have  
historically. I thought I remembered reading there were some  
efficiencies gained at the factory that allowed for price control  
(didn't I?) but I'm wondering if the dealer network had to give up a  
little as well with the expectation they'd make it up in volume.

I played lazy today and didn't go see the debut at the local  
dealer...shoulda, woulda, coulda...Maybe I'll go see Pro Italia  
tomorrow.
