[Ducati] radar/laser detection and jamming

I have found that in my area of Canada, just like in many parts of NA,
speeding tickets have become a huge cash cow and a means to put lots of
needed dollars into municipal budgets. Photo radar has become so
overwhelmingly successful that they are everywhere. Five years ago the
Photo radar vans were easy to spot but today they are not just the white van
on the side of the road but extended cab trucks shooting from their side
windows parked on side streets or service roads. The irony is that the
photo radar system is based on the illusion of public safety and it is just
a matter of time gets their grill into the back of someone slamming on their
brakes on the freeway to avoid getting a photo radar ticket. The only
positive thing to be said is that with a photo radar ticket you do not lose
any points on your license.

Unfortunately, it is not the photo radar that is the big concern but the
police using laser. With incredible accuracy and instant on targeting your
only possible defense is a reliable laser scrambler system. In a lot of
cases you will still get pulled over and probably have to hire a lawyer to
beat the ticket in court.

I have learned through experience to simply be very careful with the speed
that I go in the city. By the time you see the police officer standing on
the overpass 300 yards away your goose is cooked. Your laser detector might
as well be called a speeding ticket detector.

Last fall myself and a buddy passed a guy on a sport bike who was pulled
over by a police officer using laser on a freeway in the city. Five minutes
later he blew by us going well over the limit. When we stopped at the next
light my buddy looked at me and said "that guy is not going to be happy
until they take his bike away from him".

Pick your spots to speed or pay the man because there is no getting around
it these days!

lol..... I too depend on luck and intuition. I cant tell you how many times
I have been rolling and just got a gut feeling to slow down and within
minutes I pass a Hi-po or sheriff or other law enforcement officer who would

have surely busted me. I have run a radar detector, but found it hard to
see/ hear. I have used an ear piece to hear the alarm, but I don't like
being tethered to my bike ( I know it wouldn't get in my way if I'm tossed
off the bike, but its a pain in the ass to get on and off the bike.) So I
take my chances without the detector. I like the wireless indicator light. I

will probably get that and the Escort or the Valentine. You can only be
lucky for so long.......
