[Ducati] Birthday present

My kids got me a great gift. They took pics of me doing track days, and brought them to the guy that does the signage on my truck. He scanned the photos and printed them on the same vinyl as the lettering on the truck. I cut the scanned vinyl with an exacto, and Voila!- on the back of the truck. I placed them so the tires on right on top of a black plastic filler at the top of the bumper, so it kinda looks like the tires are on asphalt. It is cool when I'm stopped at a light, and I see a guy on a sporty bike come up behind me to a stop. More often than not, I will see him in my side mirror come to a stop behind me, look at the back doors, and then look quickly up at my side view mirror that I am watching them from. If they have a clear shield, or shield up, they are always smiling. Sometimes they'll see me looking and give a thumbs up or a head nod. What bums me, though, is that when people comment on the stickers in person while standing at the truck (if they don't know me personally) they'll sometimes say, "Pretty cool- where did you get the images from- some magazine or something?" Incredibly (bad me for fantasizing otherwise), they just figured I took some pictures that I thought were cool and printed them to put on the truck. NO PEOPLE- That's ME in the pictures!!!!! "Oh wow, that's you?" Never mind- the wind is already out of my sails. I assumed that everyone who saw the decals would just automatically assume that it was me-the obvious superhuman- in the decal. Oh well, back to earth.

They are cool, though.

A couple of pics should be on Harlyn's Registro site by tomorrow sometime. Search 1994-captioned Steve's truck. (I didn't upload an image of the other bike in the picture, my current track bike, 'cause it's not a Duc. Am I allowed to post a picture of a non-Duc bike, Harlyn................?)
