If I had to do something like this for the first time, I would want an expert like Guy to be involved. Typically tends to be cheaper that way (don't ask me how I know this, but it's based on decades of wrenching). Guy's a great guy, very fair prices, excellent work. And your in Canada already!

I have actually shimmed my own crank (998, 150rwhp) together with Guy (he did most of the work, I did most of the watching...). Main issue was accurate axial play measurement and having the right shims (we actually custom machined them, but we also used stronger than OEM main bearings). The fit was sweet, no play but easy to turn with your fingertips.

Three years and many track sessions later the engine is still excellent in every respect. I have also done top end work myself (cam timing, squish included) mainly because I like fiddling and Guy does not live in my neighborhood.

Cheers

Rainer
