[Ducati] DEER WHISTLES DO NOT WORK

Now, Now, all this static about Deer Whistles....

They DO work, they made a great 'gag' gift for my son after his encounter
with the doe. No doubt, that is the end of their value, I mean how could a
deer NOT hear the roar of the Termi's long before the whistle (had one been
mounted) anyway.

Of course on our two trucks, we have Deer Strainers (aka 'brush guards'),
but so far I have resisted the temptation to do the same for the bikes, or
even the BMW (car of course).

See if you can find a copy of the OSHA Cowboy poster and you will have a
good idea of what an OSHA motorcyclist would look like.

I knew this from scientific studies I had read years ago, but thought
someone else would bring it up on the list. Since I haven't seen the
definitive comments yet, here is a link which discusses the issues, and also
has sources for the original information.

Anyhow, I don't like the idea of deer with whistles anyhow. Can you imagine
the noise if they decided to hold a rave? ;')

Beppe!
