[Ducati] fix or part out '93 900ss

I could not agree with Kevin more about riding, though I would not
necessarily categorize collecting and restoring as activities that are
in conflict with riding as the prime directive.

I happen to know the SP in that auction covered over 4000 miles last
year after being rescued from garage rot. Among other journeys it
covered most of the state of California on Hiway 1 and brushed the candy
stripes at both Sears Point and Laguna Seca. It was the one modern bike
owned by the seller who has a tiny collection of classic motorcycles
that are regularly ridden and cover 15,000 miles in a typical year. I
know because I am the seller.

To be sure, it all begins and ends at the handlebars, yet for me
motorcycles are also kinetic art work. Are we not all in love with our
Ducatis in some part due to their good looks? So since I cannot afford
Bernini's Apollo and Daphne for my garage, I turn to classic motorcycles
whose beauty I can enjoy as much as the excitement I get from riding
them.
