FW: [Ducati] ST4S wiring harness

I have a 2004 ST4S ABS - Ducati say two years warranty is two years - my ABS
unit has failed after the two years and am still talking to them and they
are saying no they cannot help 

Within warranty they are great - do you know anyone who sells extended
warranties - maybe that might help you - or the selling dealer.

Or there are a lot of after-market Ducati mechanics who may be able to mend
this without so much trouble - where do you live?

I recently purchased a 2004 ST4S with 1850 miles on it, I've put another
1500 since buying it. It's has developed a problem with the wiring harness
which in turn toasted the ignition module. 

Looks like a $4,000.00 repair....not impressed and Ducati has bailed
completely on any kind of compensation...no breaks....pretty harsh given the
mileage and mint condition. Has anyone heard or experienced this problem or
is this what I'm going to have to get used to owning a Ducati? 

Thought I'd buy my dream machine, had no idea this kind of repair would be
coming this early in the game. I'd really appreciate hearing from some long
time Ducati owners to give me the straight goods a to whether this is normal
Ducati stuff.
