Stephen & Dlist,
" The 1098 was 25k out the door."
Mine was around 20K out the door and it's an "s"
"After running the bike for a while it stalls out and won't start again. A
guy had it happen to him while riding Isle of Man and the bike went down. He
slid for a while until he was hit by a car. 90% of them do this... "
I hope I am in the 10% then !
Especially the sliding and coliding part !
Seriously though, in lower RPMs fuel management is lean
as is a lot/most of the newer carb/euro regulated motors.
Ducati has a flash for the ECU & the dealer where I bought
mine (AMS) said he would do it @ no charge. I suppose
I am going to bite the bullet and buy the ECU for the Termis
as the DynoJet folks tell me no luck yet on the PCIII, and I
got my Ti Remus system in today.
Can anyone beat $944USD on the race ECU ? ?
I digress....
My 1098 will usually only stall when coasting after I've
dropped it down into neutral. Unfortunately this is usually
at a traffic-light or stop sign, and not the best place for a
possible stall.
"Always shit for the first year."
I will have to respectfully disagree, due to MY experience only.
I will repeat here what I have said dozens of times to people
that I have spoken to f2f about my 1098s - It is the best
sportbike I have EVER ridden. No questions about it !
It may tank completely in a month, but it's been a really great
ride so far. Dealer support is good so far, parts availability
(while still overpriced) is wonderful and I am all grins.
Ride On,
Andy
