Thanks for all the feedback, and consider everyone free from any liability. The helmet was very new, immaculate, and I see no other cracks, stress lines or blemishes in the area of the dinks. The "no mass inside the helmet" point is one I had not fully considered, but makes great sense (although some might argue that my head doesn't have much mass anyway). And the public building x-ray idea,... brilliant. Why didn't I think of that. It might be kinda fun to go to the courthouse without being accused of something.
In any event, after another surface inspection, I expect I'll wear it.
