You also had no mass inside the helmet (your head) to compress the inner 
lining from the inside. Also your helmet probably didn't fall off the seat 
until the bike was over at 45 degrees, so it probably only fell a couple of 
feet, tops.

I whack my head on overhead tree limbs all the time while dirt riding, feels 
like someone hit me with a baseball bat. I'd have to replace my helmet 
everytime I rode if I was that worried.

IMO it's fine.
