[Ducati] slipping and grinding sound from 1st gear

My Multistrada has squawked occasionally at takeoff in first gear since
about 5,000 miles. Now has 18,000 miles, clutch makes a lot of thrashing
around noises, still squawks occasionally in first and works just fine. I'm
thinking of replacing the clutch, but won't do so unless it truly seems
necessary, by either my judgment or my dealer's. I wouldn't worry too much
about it, but if you don't like it, change it.
Also, are the OEM clutches the only ones we are talking about here? Mine
are OEM, but maybe the Barnetts and others act differently? Anyone with
different experiences with non-OEM clutches?
