I guess the bottom line is that the service required to keep the
warrentee valid is what is laid out by the manufacturer.
A customer can have his shop check whatever else he likes at a service.
A shop may even want to discuss and recommend some operations over an
above those laid out by OEM and if the customer agrees, all good and well.
Its when the shop lays down what needs to be done as if it is Ducati
policy and bullies / scares an unsuspecting customer into accepting it
that there is a problem.
