George,  I agree totally about the Gates style belts. We used hundreds 
of them at the newspaper
I worked for in many applications. The tying machines gave them a severe 
workout. Keep them dry and protected from FOD and they last almost forever.
 The use on Ducatis is very light due to the desmo heads, keep oil off 
of them and keep proper tension and enjoy the ride.
