[Ducati] Computer light ON...

I've recently noticed, on several occasions, that my "red key light" is on when I go to start my 2004 999. The first few times it happened I was finishing up a ride at the local watering hole . . . and when I started the bike, the light was on. When I got home, I got the red key and started the bike, and the light re-set, so I didn't really take much notice. Just thought it might be a one-time thing.

Yesterday, I went for a quick scoot and found the light was on for the entire ride. I also noticed that my MPH was at zero for the whole ride. After about 50 miles, I decided to return home, just in case trouble was approaching. Now the red key will NOT re-set the light. 

Just for general purposes, I leave a battery tender plugged in after every ride, and the bike has a new battery (about two months old).
