I have a hunch that the display has a built in battery, probably rechargeable, that keeps the software aligned for the short term when changing batteries etc but is not able to keep it up for a long period. There should be some kind of reset available to restore the initial settings but later data, like mileage is probably lost. I hope I'm wrong, but I would check with the Dealer/Ducati to see if there is a reset available. Have you tried the red key? Good luck, moonbeam
