Subject: [Ducati] SBK Fuel pump
Master brand available at Advance Auto, Part Number E2061, which should be
for FORD Mustang 5.0L HO works fine, whatever was wrong it works now....this
fuel pump does not make the high ptich whine of the Bosch but you can hear
it come one when you turn the key on and you can hear it relieve in the
tank. This pump was 80 some odd bucks, mounts in the stock rubber boot fine,
has two spade terminals marked for polarity so only mod to stock is to cut
wires and crimp on two female spade ends. I suspect this pump could be
crossed with others from Walbro or even Bosch rather than try to match up
the Ducati version. I do have that part number for those that want it but I
suspect it will not do you much good. Still for those a bit more anal about
it than me, my research of fuel pumps is the Bosch is pretty good...twice
the price maybe but it maintains a better output across varying voltages
than others. How much this matters for the Duc is debatable...as you will
have other problems trying to
run your bike at say 11 volts versus 12.5. Once running voltage should be
pretty constant so fuel pump output should be constant and I suspect at
190lph this pump has plenty of excess capacity. Hope this helps some who
have fuel pump problem, also remember the Duc fuel filter croses over to BMW
K75. The last price I had the local Ducati dealer quote for fuel filter was
the outrageous sum of 54 dollars not in stock. Can you imagine a Duc dealer
not stocking a fuel filter?????? I think the BMW equivalent is under 15
bucks. Rich
