NDC [Ducati] the Wave

Out here in the hither-lands of Silicon Valley I generally wave at
all bikes even the Vespa riders (who often looked surprised). Most of
my riding is back and forth over Highway 9 to Boony Doon where I keep
one of my horses. I would say that 90% of the riders will wave
including the HD, and Gullwing riders. The diehard HD outlaw looking
riders will surprise you at times but generally they won't return a
wave.

I haven't been waving at the motorcycle officers after reading some
postings on riders waving and then getting pulled over and lectured.
I have ridden the hills with city cops that ride and love motorcycles
(at times rather swiftly). But my general feeling is most are not
really into motorcycles but rather the extra pay and type of duty.
Hope that is just my limited experience and that most are enthusiasts.

For those that do not wave back I figure they are either too busy or
have their own issues. Perhaps they were frightened by a person on a
Ducati as a child and they are still dealing with the recovery.

Cheers,

Robert
