Yep, works fine.  Make a buff pad out of some cheese cloth or an old  diaper 
rag (new purchase at WalMart for two bucks) and buff it with some swift  
passes.  Just like polishing a lacquer finish on furniture. Done it to my  carbon 
benders two years ago and they still look fine.
