[Ducati] the Wave

My big issue with waving came at a rally. When is it enough? How far away from the center of activity is one no longer expected to wave? 1mile? 2miles? Should you base it on the number of waves per minute/mile? 20 wpm? 30wpm? I vote for 15 wpm to be the breaking point. As a matter of fact, let's set the standard shall we? From now on, if you have the oportunity to wave at 15 other two-wheeled vehicles in one Minute or mile, whichever takes less time, you are thereby no longer expected to wave, nor should you, thus avoiding any guilt felt by other parties to return said wave.

I have even started waving at the moto-police officers. I get about a 50%
wave response from them.

At least he waved and we all waved back.

I wave no matter what (unless I don't feel comfortable taking my hand off
the bar) Waving is a courtesy we extend to each other as if to say, 'hey
fellow biker brother/ sister, nice to see you out on two wheels, be safe.'
Its not a, 'I waved at you now you have to wave back at me', contest I used
to take it personal when I didn't get a wave back, now I don't care.
Its either their anal retentive problem, or they just cant take their hand
off the bars. Maybe they just didn't see me. I like to think that they are
just afraid that if they remove a hand from the bar, the bike will fly
wildly out of control and lead to their 2 wheeled demise. It just doesn't
matter. Perhaps if enough bikers wave at them they will lighten up and wave
back.
