    Around these parts ( saint louis MO ) the newbies  can't wave, the mean 
looking ones won't,  two up touring ones are  asleep,  and about half of the 
rest will wave. Those that have ridden  more than around the block will always 
wave.  I like to give the "left  hand off the grip" wave, especially when 
leaned over.  Just to  see if they are looking where they shouldn't be.  Look 
ahead, think ahead,  use those eyes for all they are worth.
