[Ducati] 749's

Thanks for the thread,
nice to know I'm not the only one that the TPS and throttle body sync went
out on before the 1st service.
I traded in my 749 Dark for a 999 BIP (black of course)
This was after a warranty with my vertical cylinder head. They replaced the
entire head. Root cause of the warranty was micro-finishing compund left in
the oil passages in the cam, the compound got out and ate up (scoring) my
cam journals, etc...
They caught it because my valves were out of spec (tight), i didn't know
they checked the valves on the first service, lucky I guess that they
screwed up and checked them!

I don't know if that was an isolated incident, as well as the oil leak I had
from a side cover of that same head(lapped the cover and it was good)
warranty as well

The 749 Dark has a different cam than the other 749's, but a cleanliness
issue like that from manufacturing would affect any cam , I'm hoping it was
isolated to that cam profile.
I'm also assuming that they do a 1 piece flow, and the bikes run through
thier own lines....just guessing, never seen the plant in Italy

anyway, botom line is that I stayed in the family and absolutely LOVE my
Ducati
just wanted to share my experience, don't get scared.....just get the one
you like!! and ride as much as you can :o)
