[Ducati] "Ape Hangers" on a 999

Makes sense, generally speaking the narrower the tire the easier it is to flick back n forth while a wider tire will have a larger footprint and handle high speed corners better.  That's why I managed to ditch some of my friends on their sport bikes going downhill on a tight mountain road in Napa, CA. with my 350 Honda.  Going downhill power didn't count and I could flick the thing around like a crazed fool on a pogo stick, which is about how the thing handles.  Later, Moonbeam

Anyone else found it unusual for Ducati to mount a 190 on a 999's 5.5 
inch rim.
I followed my own instincts and opted for a 180 and the bike came alive.
Turn in is much easier and the directional pressures are much lighter 
(whew-!!) through chicane's.
