[Ducati] 907 swingram issue ??

Is yours one of the Laverdas that looked like a 305 Honda on steroids?  My brother had one, it was a pretty sweet ride till he pushed it too hard on a rising sweeper and turned himself into a pretty good imitation of the sausage creature.  Later, Moonbeam

Any ideas what would cause this to suddenly rub????
