Sad, but just because we ride doesn't mean we can't fail to see a bike.  A few years ago while turning into a restaurant I cut off a motorcycle I didn't see, causing him to take evasive action.  The gye gave me a royal dressing down, hard to argue as I knew that I was wrong, but if we can make that mistake just think how dangerous the average cell phone using, snack eating driver can be.  Defensive riding is the only answer and  always cringe when one of my friends hugs the center line on a 2 lane road with traffic going the other way.  Don't you know that behind that big truck is some angry dude, brain squirming like a toad, ready to rush out and pass the first time he thinks he sees an opening.  Later, Mike D. Bike.
