[Ducati] insurance claim

Years ago, Allstate covered a friend's R6 that he wadded up at the track
on a private (member) day. I'd hazard it's one of the reasons Allstate
has shied away from insurance bikes in recent years. Back then, they
were dirt cheap if you could get coverage with them.

Whether or not you're screwed from waiting so long to file is going to
come down to the terms in your policy. I'd suspect you're either screwed
or can expect to be dropped shortly after settling your claim - it's
Geico, and they've got a fairly bad reputation from what I've seen (no
direct experience though).

Best of luck with it, and don't foget to factor in the deductible and
subsequent premium increase if you decide to file. I've been in
situations where it made more sense to suck it up and pay out of pocket.

IMHO, if track days are covered, they're covered. It's one of the
reasons I always ask for a specimen policy prior to getting a quote from
a new insurance provider. Invariably, it comes down to the carrier's
discretion.
