Of course, much of the time the MV's only competition was a gaggle of 
British singles.

Great stuff in '66 and '67, however, with Ago on the MV and Mike the Bike on 
the Honda.  In '67 they tied on points, each had five wins, Ago won the 
title with more second-place finishes.  Then Mr. Honda decided to stop 
competing in Europe and Agostini won every race he finished in the next five 
years (often by a minute or more).  Reading the "Competition" section of 
Cycle World magazine was never the same again...

Damn, I'm old.
