[Ducati] What you find when your killing time.

I remember that race too! That was the first time I saw anybody save a lowside with their knee.
I seem to recall KRJR rode on his knee slider for quite a while.
The next greatest save I've ever seen was Lawson kicked out of the seat of his Kaw superbike, came down on the right peg with his left foot, and just hopped back onboard. Think this was at Talladega AMA superbike race in 80?

I remember a 250 race, back when AMA had televised two-stroke races, where Kenny Roberts Jr. was dicing with Rich Oliver and lost both ends at Sears Point in a tight downhill right hander (Turn 4, I think). The front end was fully tucked and I was 110% sure he had handed the race to Rich, but he hoisted the bike back up onto its wheels using his right knee, then straightened it up, snatched a tear-off from his faceshield and pinned the bike WFO without even losing a position on track! I rewound that move about 400,000 times to make sure I had seen what I thought I saw. I've saved my share of scary moments.....but that was, to me, the best save I've ever seen! I have NEVER doubted KJ's talent since.
I haven't thought about that race for years, so thanks for spurring my tired old brain into action.
Cheer,
Cloner
Still in awe of KJ (and Rossi, Schwantz, Rainey, Doohan, McCoy, Schobert, Mertens, Polen, Agostini, Luchinelli, Lawson, Roberts SR.....do I need to keep going?)

Actually, I have a video of a 250 GP race (from Assen I believe) that clearly shows a rider losing both front and rear grip at the
exact same time. You swear that both wheels are off the pavement and he's sliding on the fairing but by using his knee he pushed the
bike back up onto it's wheels. Really! I'm sure others on the list will remember it. Back when Speed-had-VISION they use to show
this clip over and over.
