Well, no matter what your beliefs are, isn't it a bit disingenuous to
thank the "Lord" for their win and proclaim themselves "blessed",
etc.? Of course, it's not only Nicky who does this, as most of the
NFL players do too, but to me it screams arrogance. It's as if they
believe they are God's chosen and that God wagers on the NFL action.
Perhaps this is a kooky assumption, but I think the Almighty should
be engaged in more important things than cheering for his favorite
football team (or MotoGP rider, for that matter).
And speaking of feeling blessed, how is it that some unfortunate
people can yet be so darn classy about getting life's shorter end of
the stick? For example, rarely we hear/see athletes behaving as
classy as this:
