[Ducati] '98 900SS FE Questions

I'm looking at a 900SS FE and had a couple questions.  

1) Are the heads and barrels interchangable with the '91-'97 SSs?  I know external return oil lines are some how relocated on the FE but can't picture how that might impact a swap with earlier parts.  

2) Any thoughts as to value on a nice FE?  Seems to me the silver paint scheme may be keeping values down much like what happened with the black '92SSs.
