This is how I did it when I found an oil leak months ago. I removed the
outer crankcase without draining the motor oil. It's not difficult at all,
but will be much easier if you have someone to give you a hand. Just remove
the fairings and tank so that you can easily grab the frame, and slowly
lower the bike. I did it without help, so I had to adjust the position of
the car jack with my foot.

It was then that I realized how low the bike can tilt without draging any
parts on the pavement.
