Once it was the ignition relay for me - the yellow cube on the left
side of the battery box. This resulted in a 'lights are on but nobody
is home' effect. I also had the sprag go out on my 916 once, the
starter will still turn with this problem but you either get a free
spinning starter motor or a horrible grinding noise.
