I was told an interesting little story while attending DFS over the weekend.
The Sport 1000 looks to be the same bike as a PS replica but without the
fairing and the Ohlins. However, according to a Sport 1000 owner the PS
replica has a different frame with a different head angle. (Changed to
accommodate the fairing was the reason given.) Making the Sport 1000 a quicker
turning, more flickable bike. 
Now that the Sport 1000 is available with the same 1/2 fairing as the 1st year
PS replica I have to wonder if this comment is true or not. Seems odd that
they'd make two frames, one for the faired version and another for the naked.
But stranger things have occurred. 
I do prefer the full(er) fairing on the 2007 PS replica. Now if they would
only place the exhaust high up on either side of the seat they'd have it about
right, well in my books at least.
But... I'm still waiting for the new Superbike. Roll on Milan!
