  Was wondering if you were still around, especially with no reply after Oshkosh....
   
  My favorite for long term metal protection/storage is Boeshield.  Been using it for over 25+ years after working at Piper Aircraft/Lakeland.  Cast woodworking tools (Table saw and planer beds), tractors, boats, cyles.... Never had any problems with it, cheap and readily available.  Another old favorite is Marvel Mystery oil to 'fog' the engine for long term storage.  A bit poured down the intake of any running engine will choke it out and protect.
