[Ducati] my 900ss sp stolen in SF

Sorry to hear this Les. As someone that's had 3 different bikes
stolen (including my very first Ducati) I can definitely feel your
pain. The last bike I had stole really threw me into a depressing
lack of trust for all mankind. I think I've emerged from that low,
but I do have to say I don't do half the rides I'd like to because I
worry about seeing my bike (or rather not seeing) stolen while I try
to have fun someplace other than the saddle. I went to an REI
backpacking seminar a couple of months ago and the dude teaching it
takes his motorcycle to the trailhead, parks it and hikes into the
mountains for a few days. I couldn't fathom the concept because I'm
sure by the time I came out of the mountains my bike would be half
way to China (or wherever these scumbags ship them) in a shipping
container.

Short of electrifying the frame, does anyone have any tricks to
share? I think the old adage about if someone wants something bad
enough they'll get it, but man I wish this was something that could
be solved.
