Steve,

Thanks for the info about Harley -- however, since the subject was 
about Ducati's current cross-marketing, I was only referring to 
Harley's ~~current~~ manufacturing -- capisco?  But thanks for the info.

And yes, I was aware Ducati "started out" in electronics.  In fact, 
Ducati is still making electronics:

The Ducati Energia factory is right next to the Ducati Motor Holding 
factory.  Via Marco Lepido crosses Via Ducati.  One factory faces 
east and one faces south.

If you pull your alternator out of your bike, you'll see that it has 
a "Ducati Energia" logo on it.  They are "separate" companies, but not really.
