Don't forget that Ducati is trying to position itself as the Ferrari
of motorcycles. Re-read the 2006 Roadshow investor's report. They
are demising all the entry-level motorcycles.
Plus, Ducati does have a cache as a brand. When I tell coworkers that
I ride Ducati, they either are ignorant of brands besides
Honda/Harley or they say WOW!
Comparing Ducati as a brand to Honda is not realistic -- Honda's
bikes are machine-made and mass produced. Ducatis are hand made and
limited. Honda sells more motorcycles in a month than Ducati does in a year.
That's like comparing Gallagher's steak house to McDonalds.
