Some fun roads, eh? I live dead-center on the Oregon Coast (Newport - work
at the aquarium) and LOVE these roads when it is dry :)

Well, my dad and I took a trip from Fresno, Ca to Seattle, Wa via the Oregon
coast in early November, me on my '00 996S and my dad on his BMW R1150RT -
during the storm that flooded the Pacific Northwest. We dealt with rain for
over 1,000 miles of the 2,100 mile trip and wind gusts of 60 mph, with
temperatures ranging from the mid 30's to around 70 degrees. For gear, I
bought the Belstaff Discovery Jacket, Belstaff Pioneer Pants, and Belstaff
Thermosport Gloves and Tourmaster Waterproof boot covers to go over my Sidi
Vertebra boots. I couldn't be happier with the jacket and pants, and while
the gloves are wonderful, they did get wet in these extreme conditions. The
jacket and pants kept me completely dry and warm, and all I wore under them
was shorts and a t-shirt. The next time I ride into a hurricane, the only
thing I will change is I will make sure to get some type of glove covers.
Maybe something like this:
