I don't gush too much about it, but when others show the love, I can't help
chiming in.........I, too can just stare at my '94 CR. It's been mine since
'96/2400 miles.

>>Couldn't agree more Mikiel, I think my 93 750 SS sp is a perfect
>>combination
>>of engine exposure and styling that works perfectly. I make a special trip
>>through my garage just to 'take a look' on my way to work each morning.
>>Indivertibly Ducati will bring back a version of the SS in later years and
>>when they do, the market will come to realize what a truly beautiful
>>design
>>it was (is)......
>>Long live the SS's

>>I bought my used '96 SS back in '01 because, among other reasons, it's one
>>of the most beautiful bikes ever made. Even today the 10-year-old SS is
>>still gorgeous. The Terblanche SS just leaves me flat. It's not ugly,
>>but
>>it's not anything to get excited about either. I rented a late model
>>900SS
>>this year for the Motogiro and I certainly enjoyed riding it. It's a very
>>competent machine and has some handling improvements over my own bike, but
>>in the looks department the new one is just so blah. Ducati had rows of
>>the
>>new SS hanging around inside the factory, some of them a few years old.
>>The one they rented me was 2 years old and had just 13 kilometers on the
>>odo
>>when I rode out with it. By comparison, they did not have enough Monsters
>>or STs to meet demand for the Giro, and many people got "stuck" with a
>>900SS
>>when the other bikes were taken. The later SS is certainly a competent
>>bike, but for the money there are plenty of other bikes around that have
>>better performance and don't look about as interesting as a mini-van.
>>That
>>Ducati is discontinuing the line is not surprising to me, or even
>>disappointing really.
