As a young cheap hotrodder I used to make my own tach's using a homemade square wave generator triggered by the points with the output read on a re-calibrated ammeter. A long way to go to save a buck but time was a lot easier to come by than money then. Points? that was a long time ago. Later, Moonbeam

It was more like, they told their customers in print that the motor would
spin up to 17,500 when it only spun up to 16,500. So what did Yamer'ha do?
They took back all of the bikes and crushed them and then started over
again. If it was a simple tach issue they would have replaced the tachs,
than to have to crush all of the bikes!

Here in the good ole USA it's called truth in advertising. I'm sure there
where plenty of folks that would have loved to had one of those bikes even
if it only reved to 16,500! Hell of a way to start off with a new generation
bike!
