[Ducati] Battery Suggestion

The original battery for that guy is the famous Yuasa YB16AL-A2 wet
acid battery, which is the same headache for the mid-90s 900SS
bikes. I say "headache" because no one makes a gel replacement for
it which is a direct fit, and it's actually a fairly large-capacity
battery (16Ah / 220CCA)

If your bike is a track bike, you don't need a full sized
battery. What about using one of those portable jump starters to
help the battery you have on cold days?

They are cheap and you can swap the large auto-sized clamps with some
small ones (I got a 2" set from Pep Boys).

Odyssey makes a battery which is a very close fit, but it is almost
double the weight. The stock YB16 is 8.5 lbs and the Odyssey is 15
lbs. However, it is 20 Ah and close to 300CCA.

Some people have used the YTZ7S battery because it is the same width
but it is miniscule in capacity -- 6Ah and only 130 CCA. It will
suffer from teh same problems you are having and I bet it is the one
you already have.

Check out the Westco 12V12B-4 . It is 10 Ah and 175CCA and is the
same width and only one lb heavier. There are a few others I have
looked at but that is the closest in capacity and size.
